The Drive home from Florida

On our long drive back to Colorado, we hit some rain just north of Tampa.  But we were rewarded with the most spectacular double rainbow I have ever seen!

We drove for miles with this view outside our window.  This fully formed rainbow reached from one end of the horizon to the other.

We pulled off at an exit for supper and realized it was the exact same exit we stopped for supper at the last time we drove home from Florida in 2008.  The kids had to test out the rocking chairs on the front porch of Cracker Barrel before heading in for some southern cookin'.

On our second day of driving, we left Selma, Alabama bright and early.  Well, not too early as we only got in at 2 AM.  We reached Memphis, Tennessee by late afternoon and stopped for a break along the Mississippi River.

Admiring the statue of a man, who could not swim, saving the lives of others when their boat sank in the Mississippi River.

Lucy's going to help him...

Charlie in front of a very long barge.

We spotted Elvis at the Visitor Center!

Checking out B.B. King before hitting the road again for Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Charlie will get his 49th state and Phil will get his 50th!
