St Kitts

Our last stop on the itinerary was St Kitts.

We took a taxi to Cockleshell Bay Beach on the southern coast of the island. The island is quite hilly with a narrow strip of land connecting the southern tip to the main part. On the left, you can see the Atlantic, with its rough waves. The Caribbean Sea, on the right, was much calmer.

The girls

Charlie joins us but Lucy is off and ready to explore.

Building our sand castle.

Making the terraces on it.

Phil found a starfish while snorkeling.

A quick picture before returning it to the water.

Lucy wanted a chance to hold it!

Charlie's turn.

Returning it to it's home.

Our finished sand castle! Phil found the conch shell on the top while snorkeling and the kids found all the shells to decorate it. The large conch shells on the bottom were loaned to us by Rasta Tobal, the man who rented us our beach chairs.

The sand castle builders!

The whole family.

Dark clouds are coming in!

On our ride back to the ship, we stopped at South Friar's Bay Beach and got to see the wild monkeys that roam freely around the island.

I think I see some similarities...

We also saw a mongoose!

No time to swim at this beach. Maybe another time...

Shopping for some souvenirs...
