Hawaii - Day 4

Charlie, the chauffeur extraordinaire, was responsible for pushing Lucy in her umbrella stroller. The handles were rather short so it's awkward for Phil or me to push it. Luckily, Charlie didn't mind and Lucy loved the high speeds and interesting detours her big brother took!

Lucy, taking one of the many sculptures for a ride.

Chloe, all smiles!

The ocean view from our lanaii.

The lagoon view from our lanaii.
Throughout the day, we could watch everyone having their dolphin excursions.

The dolphins entertained us enormously, especially when they leaped out of the water.

Or when the sputtered in the water, or as Lucy said "Dolphin cough!"

Phil, stealing Charlie's classic pose.

The middle section of the Kona pool, next to our hotel.

The far end of the pool had a big waterslide, caves filled with hot tubs and waterfalls.

The other end of the pool had a zero entry and sand bottom. Lucy loved the giant turtles she could climb on.

Lucy was very independent in the pool, especially with her inflatable life jacket. Every now and then she'd let Daddy carry her...

If you look close, you can see the little lizard. On the second last day of our stay, one of these guys sneaked into our room and found a new home behind the mini fridge.

Lucy taking a break from the hot tub, which Charlie is enjoying in the background.

The salt water lagoon was a favourite place to go swimming and snorkelling.

It's filled with all kinds of fish, eels, rays, and turtles.

My second favourite fish, the Moorish Idol.
My favourite fish - the Saddleback Wrasse. The picture doesn't do it justice - it almost glowed fluorescently!

Cheryl's friend, the Eel.

The Eagle Ray

The sea turtles weren't afraid to swim right by us.

Chloe, in her shady spot.

And now back in the air conditioned room.

Taking the boat to the restaurant for supper.
