Snow again!

Updated to include Chloe!

I have a feeling we're going to be shoveling more snow than our neighbours across the street. The sun just doesn't seem to hit our front yard!

I think Chloe forgot what this snow stuff was. She was not impressed with the coldness of it and did not want to touch it!

In the maple leaves and snow, you'd think we're back in Canada!

Today, Oct 26, it snowed for the second time since we moved here. School was almost closed/delayed for a snow day. Luckily, Charlie still went to school, but they had indoor recess. This was a great disappointment to him because who wouldn't want a chance to play in all the fresh snow?

Look, we've got icicles already!

And our trees haven't even lost their leaves yet...

Wheeee!

Denver Museum of Nature and Science

On Sunday, we took in the Museum of Nature and Science. The kids enjoyed riding on the guanacos in the wildlife exhibit.

Lucy, trying to get right into the display.

What Charlie would look like with Caribou antlers.

The boys and Lucy, who was loving the wolf display.

Lucy, in awe of the Mountain Lions!

"Look Mom, it's making the deer dead because I can see red spots on it!"

Outside, riding the wolf sculptures.

Hold on, Charlie!

Gotta love a good climbing tree!

Royal Gorge Suspension Bridge

Last weekend, we went for a drive to check out the Royal Gorge Suspension Bridge. It's about an hour southwest of Colorado Springs and is one of the world's highest suspension bridges.

We opted not to pay the ~$25 per person fee to cross the bridge and instead took a hike in the picnic area nearby.

It's a little daunting to let your kids walk so close to the edge of a cliff.

Luckily, Lucy's common sense has developed and she's not so wild in the outdoors.

Charlie was feeling much better later in the day so I was able to get some smiles out of him!

United States Air Force Academy

We spent last weekend in Colorado Springs and decided to check out the Air Force Academy. We always see it from the interstate driving from Denver to Colorado Springs but wanted to get a close up view. The Cadet Chapel has some stunning architecture!
The tall spires are just as impressive from the inside.

And the stained glass glows in a myriad of colour.

Lucy, getting a ride on Daddy's shoulders as we walk past the residences, or the cages as Lucy called them.

We parked at the gift shop and walked the 1/3 mile trail to the chapel and then back again. Longest 2/3 mile we ever walked, due to the fact that we didn't bring a stroller for Chloe and she insisted on "hawking" (walking) all by herself.

I love the fall colours here! I didn't expect much but with the rolling hills, they seem to go on and on!

The girls with Mr. Sourpuss. Charlie wasn't feeling well so we opted not to do the Cheyennne Mountain Zoo. As a result, every other option was boring.

Taking a break on the long way back...

Lucy was in supermodel training mode, insisting on getting her picture taken. "Take a picture of me" and "Now take of picture of me over here". I wish the others were more like her!
