Day 7: Malaga, Spain

Our second port was Malaga, Spain where we met up with our old friends, the McCulliins.  We hadn't seen them in almost 2 years since we left Winnipeg for Denver and they left for Madrid.  It was so nice to catch up with them!

Weather wise, this was our worst day of the whole trip.  Rain in Spain!  All day, off and on from a little sprinkle to a heavy downpour.  Luckily, we had umbrellas!  We stopped in at a cafe for some hot chocolate.

After warming up, we walked to the Picasso Museum, via the Cathedral of Malaga.

The kids had fun running around the square.

And checking out the fountain.

The Picasso Museum was amazing!  The kids got so much out of it.  The girls enjoyed seeing the Cubist art and trying to figure out what was in the paintings.  Charlie and Kai enjoyed that as well, but also were interested in how Picasso's style changed as he aged.  His style at an early age was quite realistic before it evolved into Cubism and his explanation for this change really makes sense when you see the art in front of you!

We wandered back to the cruise ship through a beautiful park lined with palm trees.

Along the way, we stopped at the playground to burn off some energy.

Back at the port in front of the Carnival Breeze.

Saying Goodbye!
