On our last day in Paris, we finally got to go up the Eiffel Tower, something the kids have been eager to do ever since we planned this trip! We heard this was also horrible for lines so we avoided that by buying tickets online before our trip for the first time slot of the day.
Waiting for the Tower to open.
It was windy at the top!
Looking down on the Trocadero.
La Rive Droite (the north side of the Seine)
La Rive Gauche (left bank or south side)
The Bischoffs ~ 1000 feet above ground!
We took the elevator back down to the second level.
We took the bus to Notre Dame Cathedral. Please ignore Lucy wandering off as we pose for pictures - we thought she was with us...
What a magnificent structure!
Gargoyles jutting out of the building!
In the garden behind Notre Dame, just before the rain came.
Well, at least the rain justified bringing umbrellas with us. We'd only need them once more on the trip...
After a stop at some souvenir shops to wait out the rain, we were back at Notre Dame for a family photo.
We found a playground and had to stop...
Inside Notre Dame
The sign said Silence and, amazingly, the kids obeyed!
Saints carved into the front of the building, including St Denis who was beheaded and carried his head 6 km, preaching along the way?!?
Back on the bus, this time on the first level where we could stay warm!
Driving down the Avenue des Champs Elysees
Here comes a bus, just like the one we're on!
L'Arc de Triomphe, again.
Le Grand Palais
Sculptures overlooking Pont Alexandre III
As we approached the Eiffel Tower, we got to witness a flash mob with Psy doing Gangnam Style at the Trocadero!
Last chance for a picture in front of the Eiffel Tower and, wouldn't you know, the dark clouds roll in... We should have done this yesterday...
