After spending the night in Flagstaff, AZ, we backtracked a bit to visit the Grand Canyon.
It is quite grand!
We parked at the visitor center and walked to the nearby viewing area.
Then, we headed back to the parking lot to get on a shuttle bus that would take us to other inaccessible viewing areas.
The kids found a great climbing tree.
Apparently, trees are more interesting than a giant gorge carved through the rocks over millions of years...
We brought the tripod along to try and get a family picture.
We visited the museum and gift shop.
And waited for the shuttle bus to bring us back to the parking lot.
There were lots of elk roaming around.
