Waiting for our ride at the boat landing stop.
Chloe, very chipper this morning!
Charlie, spooked by a dragon.
Lucy, riding the dragon.
Phil, getting fed up by Charlie and tossing him into the Waipi'o Valley.
I wonder what we can get for this sandal at a garage sale!?!
Enjoying the wind blowing through their hair.
We took the scenic drive on our way to Hilo and had to stop for a pic at this hidden gem. A waterfall coming out of a lava tube. Pretty cool!
Our upgraded rental car!
The kids, excited to go to the Pana'ewa Rain Forest Zoo.
We opted not to bring a stroller for Lucy... big mistake later in the visit.
In front of the white Bengal tiger.
From the angle of this picture, it looks like she could easily escape.
Charlie with a new friend.
Cheryl and Chloe, about to cross the bridge to Coconut Island.
Charlie didn't read the sign. In case you can't either, it says to beware of falling coconuts and fronds.
Charlie can't resist a good climbing tree!
The beautiful Rainbow Falls.
We made Charlie hold on tight to Lucy for this picture. There's quite a big drop beyond the wall they're sitting on (which was behind the do not cross fence!)
Cheryl and Chloe at the Boiling Pots, where turbulent water bubbles up through the lava rock.
At the entrance to the Kaumana Caves.
It was a steep walk down!
We didn't venture too far in.
It was quite a spectacular site with all the lush plants growing around the deep caves.
