Around the House - September and October

Breaking News (according to Charlie): This rock may contain gold!

Why do I bother... Chloe went through a phase a couple of weeks ago where everyday, she'd pull all the clothes out of her armoire. After days of putting it back each time, I gave up.

I guess she's looking for just the right outfit because after everything's on the floor, she picks out something and puts it on.

Lucy loves playing with Charlie's toys when he's at school. On this day, she made a parade!

I found some sour candies in the pantry and asked who was daring enough to try one. Of course, Lucy was the first to volunteer.

Once she survived, Charlie was willing to give it a go.

It took a few seconds for the effects to take place...

But no one had to spit it out!

The cool weather finally hit us in October.

And on October 8th, we got our first snowfall!

Time to make a snowman!

Good thing they started early in the day. By noon, all that was left of Frosty was his hat and scarf and a small blob of snow.

Charlie took the girls for a bike ride the other day.

He can be such a good brother! He even remembered their helmets!

Denver Zoo

After much begging from Charlie, we finally made it to Denver Zoo.
The first animals we saw were giraffes.

Pay no attention to the giraffes in the background. I didn't post the pics that followed...

Polar Bears

Lucy loved the wolf!

Zebra

Hippo

Penguins!

Ready for a swim!

Feeding the Lorikeets.

This one was good, but the one I fed later pecked me three times!

Denver Botanic Gardens

Another beautiful September day - perfect for a picnic in the park.

We picked up some delicious calzones and ate them at the park before heading over to the Botanic Gardens.

Burning off some energy!

I was able to get Lucy to sit still for a few seconds...

A sullen looking Charlie who refused to smile.
Almost a smile...

I wonder if anyone has had their child fall in the Japanese pond while trying to get a picture. We came close...

I've got Chloe looking...

Now Lucy...

And smiles!

Piggy back rides for Chloe because Lucy decided she needed to ride in the stroller.

It's the latter half of September and we weren't prepared for the hot weather. Luckily, the kids could cool off in the stream!
